2. Sale Water Park – East Didsbury

Stage 2 is a lovely meandering walk through the green lungs of South Manchester. Although the motorway is not too far away, it only rarely makes its presence felt. As well as following the banks of the wide River Mersey, the route circumnavigates a pretty lake, wanders through dappled woodland and follows an old country lane into one of the city’s loveliest parks.
