Affetside Cross

Affetside Cross sits on the edge of Affeside village green. The cross is a grade II listed and it marks the supposed halfway point between London and Edinburgh. Its origin remains a mystery – many to speculate it to be Roman due to its proximity to a Roman road but others consider it a medieval route marker for pilgrims en route to Whalley Abbey.
