Bridgewater Canal

The Bridgewater Canal is a 39-mile (65km) canal stretching from Runcorn to Leigh and a long stretch of the GM Ringway Stage 19 runs alongside the canal. It is considered to be the first true canal in England, built on one lavel (with no locks) over 250 years ago by the Duke of Bridgewater.
